About Us
ImpeachBush.tv was founded by Phil Burk in December of 2000, before the inauguration of George Bush. Bush's efforts to avoid counting votes in Florida led Phil to believe that he might abuse his Presidential authority once in power.
Our goal is to use this website is to provide information about the process and history of impeachment, and to describe impeachable offenses committed by Bush and Cheney. We also provide talking points and other resources for activists.
Phil works closely with the National Impeachment Network, a group of activists from AfterDowningStreet.org, Democrats.com, ImpeachForPeace.org, Progressive Democrats of America, and others.
One focus of this group has been to research Section 603 of Jefferson's Manual, which describes how a state memorial can initiate impeachment. A number of towns and cities have used model resolutions from this site as the basis for their own local impeachment resolutions. Phil also helped draft the impeachment resolutions used by the California, New Mexico, Missouri and Washington state legislatures.
Phil is a businessman and American citizen who believes that the rule of law should apply at every level of society, including the Executive branch.
