Bush is Destroying the US Economy
- Bush is focussing all his mental energy on war and not thinking about the economy.
- Bush has has squandered the budget surplus accumulated by Clinton. According to Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Terry McAuliffe: "In FY 2004 the Bush budget deficit will be $307 billion, topping the record high of $290 billion in 1992." [from Bush Senior].
- Bush is about to launch an unnecessary war against Iraq that could cost the US between $100 to $200 billion.
- Bush's tax cuts will only benefit the wealthy, and will create a trillion dollar deficit that will have to be paid back someday by the average taxpayer.
- The ongoing war is creating uncertainty in the stock market and discouraging investment.
- Bush's war is taking very productive and skilled young people and sticking them in the desert where they cannot contribute to the economy.
- Many businesses have been hurt because senior employees in the reserves have been called to active duty.
